I use many different activators depending on the slime I am making. I mostly use laundry detergent or borax.

Borax ha been proven not to burn you. If it gave people 3rd degree burn they would not sell it as a household item.

I would think it would take about a week in the U.S. mainland anywhere else I do not know yet, but as soon as I found out I can tell you.
